Correct my letter

Dear my new friend Frankenstein,
I am overjoyed to hear that you would like to be my friend! When people say friendship I think of two people who have similar interest who like to hangout with each other voluntarily. When people are friends they should try to put time and effort into their relationship. I strive to emulate the philosophy of put your friends first. Try to help them if they have a problem, before bringing your own problems into it. A friend should also aim to comfort and support your friend in good times, and especially in bad times.

A lot of people tell me I am a good friend. I am someone who will support you through your good times, and comfort you through your bad times. The number one virtue I try to keep in my head about in whatever I do is honesty, even when it’s hard to tell someone the truth. People can trust me. Now loyalty, this is a characteristic that I believe should be an automatic. I can’t stand when people don’t stick up for their friends or talk about them behind their back. I would never not stand up for my friends when they’re facing something or talk behind one of my friend’s back. Now for the less serious ones, but still important. I like to make people laugh, so if you like people with a sense of humor then you’ll probably like me. Lastly, I am a good listener. I try to understand the situation from my friend’s point of view.

Now what I look for in a friend is a lot, but when someone fits it, it’s a good chance we’ll be friends for a very long time. The number one thing after loyalty in a friend is someone who will not deliberately put you down or hurt your feelings. That’s a sign of insecurity when you have to put someone down just to make yourself feel better. That won’t fly with me. I also really respect it when my friends are honest, even when it’s tough to be. Tell me the truth, I don’t mind if it will hurt me, I just want you to be honest. When someone lies to me once, I give them a warning. When they do it twice, well, they’re out. I also like people with some of the same interests as me. The subjects I like are business, physics, and computer sciences. If you like any of those then that’s a good start. Lastly, I like someone with a sense of humor. Someone who knows how to joke around and not always be so serious.

How you making out Frankenstein? If you believe in loyalty with your friends and honesty, then I’m sure we’d be friends. Also, if you liked any of my interests, then I’d bet we’d be even better friends. I also don’t judge people by appearance, honestly. I look for what’s inside a person. Though if it’s borderline good or bad personality, looks come into play, that’s human nature for you. Granted that you like what I have said in this letter, you should write back to me so we can become actual friends.
your new friend,
Nicholas
