We, the students of class 10, have been given the responsibility by students of junior classes to make this request to you to upgrade our school’s facilities.
We are one of the oldest schools of Sydney with a 100 years plus history. In the last 4/5 years, the number of students studying in our school has increased by 50%, mainly because of our school’s reputation. We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to you for having guided our schools to such glory.
We are, however, constrained to mention that almost all our school’s facilities are proving to be inadequate to meet the enhanced demand. The specific areas, which need improvements, are as below.
a. Library … The library needs more books. Most books have been frayed due to long use. Recently-published story books by eminent Australian and other Commonwealth writers need to be procured to augment the inventory.
b. Canteen … The canteen overflows with students in the recess hour as there are not enough chairs in the dining hall. Some 20 more chairs with tables are needed.
c. Indoor stadium .. This has to be equipped with aT least two more Table Tennis tables and one additional badminton court.
We hope you would broadly agree with our assessment of the school’s needs. As we prepare to leave the school in two month’s time, we feel it is our duty to leave the school in a state better than that prevailing at the time of our first admission. We will be most willing to assist you and the Governing Body in this job. We remain duty-bound to serve our school later when we take to our professional careers.
