Correct instructions?

Hi. Please tell me whether the following instructions are correct or not. Should we include the article "the" before the word "sentences"? Let's say the picture shows two people. Also, I'm not sure but I think we can replace the word "heights" with the word "height" and still be correct.

Look at the picture and make (the?) sentences about their heights.

I'm sorry but help me with this, too. If we were to write something like an "assignment goal" (something similar to a lesson goal) based on what's written above, I think this will be correct, without the article "the" before the word "sentences." Here, to me, somehow, the word "height" looks better than "heights."

Students will be able to make sentences about the height of the people in the picture.
