Correct grammar

Do you say "I was working at Tescos" or "I have been working at Tesco" when writing to a prospective employer?

(If you wanted the "s", it would have to be "Tesco's".)

I suppose it's better to fill in as "have been working", dfor teh fact of your employment is of great importance at the moment.

Oops, I forgot to comment on the other difference.

"I have been working" means working up until the present time, or up until very recently. If you left longer ago than very recently then you need to say "I was working" or "I worked" (the choice depends on the surrounding context).
