Correct English sentence Poll..

Guys I Got In a quarrel with my friend on this you decide which one is correct .
1st sentence he said - I apology for it.
2nd sentence corrected by me - I apologize for it.

Do Help me with this ?

Yours is fine, but it is usually in heard in the past tense.
