Correct choice?

Hi all

This kind of people are more likely to show signs of psychopathy, a personality disorder _________by anti-social behavior.

B) criticized
C) characterized
D) originated
E) distinguished

Which one is the correct choice? I think C is correct but what about A and E? I need an explanation. Thanks.
