When my ex-husband dropped by earlier today to say hi to the children, he started complaining that I should help them more with their homework. I just find it funny that he comes here trying to act responsible all of a sudden, because he's barely been there for them the last couple of years.
Is this correct and natural English? (In particular the underscored sentence, would you change anything about it?)
I'd change 'responsible' to 'responsibly'.
