Correct adverb?

Hi,

In the United States, ................. 18 million metric tons of road salt are spread on the roads each year, with another 5 million used in Canada.

A) principally
B) especially
C) exactly
D) generally
E) roughly

There is only one correct option. I think both C and E are correct. What do you think?

Thanks.....

I see your point about C), but I think that simple logic excludes it in favor of E).

Nobody promises you that there is always just one correct answer on these tests. Not only must you choose a correct answer, but you must choose the correct answer that is better t
