correct a paragraph

I said I will read later because I have experienced many times I understand something that I don't understand after a due course of time. It is not possible to understand all in one go. I should read again and again. Then it's possible, one day, I will understand it.

I think I may have made it a bit clearer.... I said I would read it later because often only after a considerable length of time have I understood something that I hadn't previously been able to understand . It is not possible to understand everything in one go.

It is actually a rather common structure after negative and negative-mood initial adverbials:

Only later have I understood
Never would I be able to dance again.
Hardly had she seated herself , when the earthquake struck.
