Correct?

I read this sentence in Current English Grammar and Usage by S. M. Gupta.

"I met him today morning."

Is it correct to use "today morning"?

Not in the U.S. The only time we hear it is from immigrants from India.

It may be standard in Indian English, but I don't know of any other place where it's standard. As far as I know, everywhere else it's "this morning".
