Correct?

Something is wrong physically or psychologically if someone sleeps continually for a long time.

Is the first part of the sentence meaningful? If not, please correct it.

The first part of the sentence is OK. However, "continually for a long time" isn't. Perhaps "continuously for a long time" was meant, but still the phrasing does not seem ideal.

  • Can you sleep "for a long time" other than (more or less) continuously?
  • Or perhaps it is supposed to refer to someone's regular or habitual behaviour.
