I think I understand the meaning. We are talking to a person who, at the beginning, had views or likes that no one else shared; and then, over a period of time, everyone started to appreciate or admire those views or likes

I'd say the only thing definitely wrong with your sentence is that you've misspelt 'then' (at the tenth word)
