Correct?

What are the similarities between basketball and volleyball? "They are both played by hand or they are being played by hand" Are my answers correct?

"They are both played by hand" Correct, But more natural English is "They are both played with the hands ". "They are being played by hand" No. Use Present Continuous if you are eg watching both games right now, which is very unlikely.
