Jennifer had been stopped to help Jack. Alex didn't want her to help Jack.

I don't see anything wrong here. Or am I wrong?

The first sentence, which used passive voice, is incorrect. No one stopped Jennifer. If Jennifer had willingly stopped to help. It was an act initiated by herself. The second sentence is grammatically correct, but sounds cumbersome. You can rewrite it more naturally with a clause: Jennifer had stopped to help Jack which Alex didn't want to/ agree.
