Is the following sentence correct?

"Death is one of the main aspects of this poem as well, which can be seen as the poet calling his lover mortal."

I would say:

Death is one of the main themes of this poem as well, and can be seen in the poet's depiction of his lover as "mortal."

(The second half of my sentence is a guess as to what you want to say, because, as first written, the meaning is not clear.)
