Vocabulary

"corporate owner"

Hi

Generally I know the meaning of "corporate", but I don't get the exact meaning of it here.

Many brands have survived a string of different corporate owners.

Some companies are wholly or partly owned by other, larger corporations. For example, Frito Lay is a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo Inc. html It is possible (albeit unlikely) that PepsiCo could sell that entire 'brand' to a different company such as General Electric.
