"corp" in "The Apprentice"

I've noticed on the NBC program "The Apprentice" that the abbreviation "corp" is pronounced without the "p" as in "corps" in the name of one of the two teams "Versacorp". I'm assuming the "corp" in that is an abbreviation because the other team called itself "Protege Corporation".

I'd never heard it pronounced without the "p" before, though it doesn't surprise as the two words "corporation" and "corps" are related. I've tried to research it, but I can never get a pronunciation guide for the abbreviation.

Well, she was certainly not what one might consider "amorosa". Omarosa, that is.
