Coronavirus which is the most hazardous epidemic disease in the 21st century is causing extremely severe consequences to Vietnam. What is your opinion?

Never before has the humankind ever suffered from such a tough period of time. The Covid-19 have wiped out all the world. Even the most developed countries such as the USA or European nations, their medical and economic situation are nearly on the brink of collapsing. Vietnam, which is a developing country, has undergone lots of severe consequences on the ground of the destruction of coronavirus.

First and foremost, it is an undisputed fact that coronavirus is a perilous disease and pose a threat to the lives of many people. It is estimated that over 800000 people contracted the disease and the death toll nearly reaches up to about 21000 ; Of all that, people over 40 accounts for 70%, which is such a terrible number. Covid-19 is known to not only ruin the respiratory system, but have lifelong adverse effects on people's health, as well. Although the vaccination is implemented timely and urgently, it is proved to be not completely effective as coronavirus is constantly mutating to a more dangerous variants, which makes the prevention and cure harder and harder.

In the second place, Vietnam has been facing up to a crisis of economy owing to effects caused by coronavirus. Social distancing, isolation and quarantine are considered to assist to hinder the spread of coronavirus, but they have their flip sides. Social distancing means that all daily business, from the production of companies to tourism and transportation, must stop, which exerts economic pressure on millions of people who lose their jobs. Above all, the underprivileged people, who do not have a steady job, do not know what to get by on during the time of pandemic. Worse still, this economic crisis leads to a lot of social problems such as panic buying and the increase in the number of homeless people and parentless children.

In a nutshell, the fighting against Covid-19 is a long and challenging fighting of Vietnam. However, with the urgent and appropriate measures of Vietnam government, I always hold out the hope that our country will get over the pandemic and return to the normal life.
