Hi. I wonder if corner shop is synonymous with convenience store? My understanding is that, both refer to the same kind of shop, but the usage is kind of regional. Let me know if I am wrong. Thank you for your time and help

And I would not call it a convenience store unless it was open long hours and sold a wide variety of items. In other words, a corner shop might be a convenience store, and vice versa, but not necessarily.
