In English are copula and auxiliary verbs the same? And is the term "intransitive verb" another name for copulas/auxiliaries?

No. (However, 'be' serves in both areas.)

Copula = linking verb: be, look, seem, become, appear, etc.
Auxiliary verbs: be, do, have, can, may, will, shall,etc.
