Copped it

I am reading a book "The HODGEHEG" with my son.
'Your Auntie Betty has copped it,' Said Pa Hedgehog to Ma.
'Oh, no!' cried Ma. 'Where?'
What does "copped it" mean? What does "it" in "copped it" refer to?
Why do they treat "Auntie" as a proper noun?
