Coolly minimal museum

Hi everyone,

In the following sentences, what do you think of the meaning of "minimal"?
Does that mean "small" in size, or "something related to the minimal art"?
(From pictures on Internet, the museum doesn't look that small.)

And what the phrase "large and diverse" refers to, "museum" or "the shop in the museum"?

So...logically, what might be the best interpretation for those words marked underlined below ?

hoping your kind comments...
Thanks a lot~!

Centro de Arte Contemporáneo is a coolly minimal museum of international 20th- and 21st-century art housed in a skilfully converted
1930s market. The large and diverse museum shop and suitably stark cafe are good stops to complete your visit.

I'm pretty sure they're referring to the architecture. It doesn't have a lot of decorative elements. The "suitably stark" cafe is designed on the same lines.

I agree. They have probably abbreviated the word "minimalistic" to "minimal", which was a rather naughty thing to do!
