Dear teachers,

What do we mean when we say that somebody is cool?

calm, not upset? Any other meaning?

These're two meanings i found in the dic which may help you understand when someone is said to be cool. fashionable and attractive at the time; often skilled or socially adept; "he's a cool dude"; "that's cool"; "Mary's dress is really cool"; "it's not cool to arrive at a party too early" ps: just in addition, when someone did fantastic things or things which are incredible, they could also be considered as 'cool'. Hi, I think that doesn't sound good, I mean, I don't think it's common to say "It's cool outside" with that meaning... or it would be unusual, I guess.

If someone was upset and now he's cool, then yes he's not upset anymore, he "calmed down".
