Convert this to better english?

I thought that the article "on writing persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi was very interesting. A the beginning of the article, Marjane says that the revolution was normal, and that it had to happen. Later on, she says that it was unfortunate that it had to happen in her country because other countries were turned off by the Iranian stereotypes. First of all, this shows although Marjane did not enjoy the revolution, she accepted its existence and she understands that it had to happen.
