Conversion

Sir,

1.He is a early riser.

Now, I have to recast this sentence , without changing the meaning.

2.He rises early.

3. He is good swimer.

4. He swims well.

I did all the conversion without knowing any rule, as they sounds good after conversion and meaning is also intact.

One rule that I have interpreted that keep the subject as it is, change the noun into verb(tense should not change) and the adjective into an adverb.

Is my interpretation correct?

Now, I have to convert some more as stated above.

5.HE gave the correct answer.

Now, the problem arise, How to convert it! Here the verb "gave" creates problem for me. All the examples stated above have only copula verb (is,am,are).

Please expalin it to me How to convert the (5).

Thanks.

Well, your rule sounds promising:

'She was/seemed/remained a good/enthusiastic swimmer/pianist/cook.'
'She swam/played/ the piano/cooked well/enthusiastically.' (the tense changes to match the copula)

These also follow your rule (change noun to verb and adjective to adverb-- and omit the old verb, I suppose):

He gave the correct answer. / He answered correctly.
