conversational English- you have the floor

context: now I am in a discussion, after a speaker, I and another group member both want to make a reply, and we make an utterance at the same time;

if I want to say that member can go on/have the speaking chance/carry on, what is the idiomatic and polite way?

In the OALD, I find

get/be given/have the floor

Can this idiom be used? Or is its usage confined in Parliament only?
