Conversation correct?

Jack: I can’t believe our boss made us wait so long last week to get the pay check. I hope he is not going to make us wait that long today to get the pay check for this week.

Jennifer: I would be mad if he did that.

Is the conversation correct? Thanks.

The first sentence is, in my view correct, although it might an improvement to refer to "our pay check" (or "our pay check s " if Jack and Jennifer will each get their own pay check): I can’t believe our boss made us wait so long last week to get our pay checks. I hope he is not going to make us wait that long today to get our pay checks for this week. The second sentence is what a lot of English speakers would say.

  • However, I think it would be more correct to say either: I will be mad if he does that.
