0 Hello Yogi 02br 02br 00The two words both mean 'to recover gradually after an illness or period of ill health'. 02br 02br 00To my mind, you use 'convalesce' when you want to concentrate on the 'resting and taking it easy' side of recovery, and 'recuperate' when you want to concentrate on the 'defeating illness' side. So I'd say that 'recuperate' sounds slightly active, and 'convalesce', slightly passive.
