Contradictory?!

Hi.
Do I say 'I wanted to leave your lectur midway but it was contradictory to courtesy'?OR is there any better sentence?

Top answer

In the case of you lecture, I would use mid-way. Midway is an island in the Pacific ocean. You might then go on to say 'discourteous' to simplify your statement.

I wanted to leave your lecture early but it would have seemed rude.
