Contractions

I was asked this question and I'd love to hear what you answers will be. 'I will not....' would the correct contraction be, 'I'll not' or 'I won't'?

Is "I'll not" in common use in ordinary conversation in England? To an American ear, it sounds somewhat formal and pretentious.
