contraction

Hello,

Some dictionaries say that 'n' is a contraction of "and".
"Don't" is a contraction of "do not" and we can use it in written English.
So for "n" can we use it in written English, too? Is it also considered a standard/formal contraction?
I have this question because I don't see "n" replacing "and" often in writing (except for rock 'n' roll?). Not sure if it will be acceptable to use it like any other contracted form.

Thanks for reading the post!

No, it's not a standard contraction. It isn't used often and when it is, it is mainly in set phrases such as the one you found. Or companies will use it for product names etc to make them sound snappier ...
