Please help me explain the difference between "continuously" and "continually"

It rained continuously all day. It didn't stop.

It rained continually all day. It kept stopping and starting again.

continually: again and again with only short breaks.
I couldn't finish the scheduled lecture because students asked me continually.
continuously: with no break
We couldn't ask her any question during the lecture, as she talked continuously.
