Continually vs continuously vs continuingly

I therefore preach continually the doctrine of the fraternal association of our peoples...

From what I remember (please correct me if I'm wrong) continuous is repetitive, whereas continuing is uninterrupted. E.g. "continuous pounding on the wall", but "continuing array of numbers". What about continual - is it repetitive or uninterrupted?

In English we don't put any words between the verb and its object unless absolutely necessary.
