[CONTEXT] Is it possible to omit an infinitive in this case?

I cannot explain what I really mean but I can give the context

A: Why did you steal my phone.

Now I know that B can reply with these

B: I was forced to so do.

and

B: I was forced to.

but can I just say "I was forced"? Is it correct in this context?
