Content or contented

hi i see some people using be content or im content with , something like that. is there a change of rule 'cause as far as i know it should be be contented or im contented with what i have . so which is which?

I would say "I'm contented." (period) but "I'm content with...". I wouldn't normally follow "contented" with "with". Others may differ.

I have to agree. I somehow associate contented with cows, because of a commercial advertisement about a dairy brand many years ago, so I generally go with content.

I should have added that "I'm contented" to me suggests a general feeling of contentment (like Philip's cows, I guess) -- say when you're relaxing after a satisfying meal, or toasting in front of a warm fire... that kind of thing. I wouldn't normally use "I'm contented" to indicate my satisfaction at the outcome of a specific matter.
