Contemplating, fit the bill

"Contemplating"- I thought about "Pondering" but I don't know how much diffrent it is than just "Wondering"
Or another word for it I think that I'll have to see an example for that, a bid I know that is an attemp to run for the president.

Does "Fit the bill" in its literal meaning is "I don't know if I'll have enough money so it will "Fit the bill" It's also important for me to understand its literal meaning becuase I love the expression ...
