Consumption atmosphere

Hello,

I have written a text in English but it has been criticised, and I don't know what exactly sounds not good.

"A favourable consumption atmosphere leads to an increase of the area of coverage of many magazines."

I think that "leads" does not really suit into this context. But I would also like to know what else sound strange.

It means that the economic situation of the population allows them buying more magazines. This leads to an increase of consumption.

Sorry but I don't understand what are you trying to say even after your last post.

As for the first sentence I would write it:

The economic situation favourable for consumption causes the increase of demand on magazines.

But I don't understand your next sentence in the context of the first one...

This is a translation from German and it should be as exact as possible, that is why I cannot use your suggestion. What I wanted to know is if my mistake here was "consumption atmosphere", how else I could say it and if something else in the sentence sounds unusual.

As for consumption atmosphere I would write the atmosphere of consumption instead...

But I still do not understand the meaning of the sentece, so that post original(German) sentence, please.
