Consultation/consultancy

I came across the sentence below from a website and subsequently came up with a question about the word "consultation".
Consultation by it meaning might mean "a meeting where participants attend to get some advices".
How about another similar word "consultancy"? How differently are both used and in what particular context does either seems fit?

This consultation seeks to collect opinions from stakeholders and experts in the field of adaptation to climate change with a view to getting additional information for the preparation of the EU Adaptation Strategy.

A consultation is an event, or an ongoing series of events. It is the act of consulting one or more people; that is, asking them for their opinions or advice. A consultancy is a company or organisation that provides consultation services.
