Construct/build a car

0 Hello,02br
00I am writing a composition for my English classes and I am not sure if "make a car" is correct.02br
00Maybe "construct a car" or "build a car" would be better? There is no such a collocation in my dictionaries.02br
00I guess for most people it is too obvious 05000 .010id10

0Yes, 01i00construct 02i00or01i00 build 02i00would be better. '01i00Make a car02i00' is OK, but it sounds a little humorous-- as if the project were quite easy.0-

0In reference to car, motor cycle, and house etc., I think it's more idiomatic to say "build". Although most people probably will think of "construct" in context of a "house" which is of course logical. However, if you say "I am planning ot construct a house by the lake", it may sound a little funny to me. But if you say " build a house by the lake", it sounds more natural. 02br
