This is not possible at the start of a sentence. However, that combination of words could appear in phrasing like "One way to think of it is as ..." or "The best way to think of it is as ..." etc.

Ok. I almost got it except for the reason why we need *as* in
One way to think of it is *as* doing homework, for example.
Can I just say this sentence without *as* ?

I wouldn't say that this is the greatest example to work with, but basically it goes like this:

"You/we/etc. think of it as doing homework" -> "One way to think of it is as doing homework".
