considering teaching english

I am a native english speaker from the UK, i travel alot and i am learning russian. i was thinking about taking a CELTA course and hope to teach english, maybe in russia, ukraine, belarus, kazakhstan etc.... however i was never a university student and dont have a degree, would this be a major obstacle in my future career path?

If you intend to make it your career, then you should pursue some kind of certification in TESOL. In countries needing teachers, you can often survive on native ability and an outgoing personality, but government, commercial and university employment will usually require more.

I know nothing about Ukraine and the rest. As for Russia, as far as I know, you can do perfectly well with CELTA. Of course, it will depend on your general performance and the school - its location and needs - but the chance to find a job is fairly good.
