Considering

Hi,

Is "considering" a correct word in the following sentence? Can I use "with attention to" instead?

Is there any correction needed?

"Considering the high rate of traffic accidents in this country, which result in huge amount of human and financial losses, various studies are needed in this filed."

Thanks!

"huge amount of" should be "a huge amount of" or "huge amounts of", and you have a typo, "filed" for "field". However, the use of the word "amount" with plural nouns grates with me. I would say "huge human and financial losses".

  • " is correct in itself, but to me the sentence overall seems stylistically a little weak and anti-climactic.
  • " builds it up, but then it fizzles out in the relatively lame "various studies are needed in this field".
