Considered, against

My appeal has been considered and I have been appointed against the post of assistant director in the T&D company.

Are the use of 'considered' and 'against' correct in the sentences?

Thanks.

"considered" is correct, but "against" is wrong and it isn't clear what it is supposed to mean. Appointed to the post??
