Consecrated

In English, does the adjective 'consecrated' make sense in this context:



"After Pablo Picasso, I don't think there has been any consecrated painters in the world, or at least, not as much as him."



Note: By 'consecrated', I mean, very respected and renowned, who will always be remembered in the history of culture and arts.
