Conjunctive adverbs+however

Can I use ' nevertheless' or ' nontheless' or' though' instead of however in the following sentence because I think they all have the similar meaning and work as a conjunctive adverb. What do you think?

In English, however, this is often not true and this can cause great problems for language learners.

Top answer

'Though' seems synonymous here, but the other 2 do not. All of those conjunctives depend on further text to complete their meanings, but you have given none.
