Which one is correct? Children worked hard and enjoyed helping animals? or, Children worked hard but enjoyed helping animals? Thanks

Hi, Use 'and' if you simply want to link two statements. Use ' but' if you want to show a contrast between two statements. I don't see any contrast in your original sentence.

  • If you just say 'children', it sounds like you are making a general statement about all children.
  • If not, say eg 'The/Some children'.
