I am not clear on what you consider 'related'. — I went to work and Mr Obama stayed in the White House. How about your providing an example or two of what you mean instead?

yea kinda like compund sentences and complex sentences
since your first sentence was i went to work.
if u wanted to compund that sentence with another does the other sentence have to talk about you going to work?
ex:i went to work and my boss yelled at me? or could i add any random sentence to combine "i went to work"with just a conjucntion?
