Conjunction Help..

"I am doing my homework tongit so it can be completed by tommorow."

Is this sentence correct?

Or is this the correct version, "I am doing my homework tonight, so it can be completed by tommorow"

The first is the correct structure. I would change "to tomorrow" into "for tomorrow".

Wouldn't that be a run on sentence if the comma is left out? We have two independent clauses there right?
