Conjunction: Being/Being that

a) Being a student, I have plenty of time for extracurricular activities.

(Because (I am)=being)

b) Being that this is the final day of the year, we should drink ourselves silly.

(Because=being that)

c) Being this is a public event, I am very concerned about parking.

Question: Is c corrent? Why?

I think I'd use 'since'.

It should be Being as not being that

According to the dictionary b and c are correct if you replace that with as

Why did you ask if C is correct and not b, it's the same sort of sentence.
