Conjunction after "such that"

Consider the sentence:

"we choose an object X such that P and Q",

where P and Q are two predicates. I think the whole sentence is a bit hard to read, because the "and" after "P" may be confused as the beginning of a new sentence (even Q may not be a sentence).

Is there a better way to write such a sentence?

Thank you for the suggestions.
